Roxas won the prize! Congrats! 358/2 is picking up a little more now. Demyx still seems very distant. Almost like he's talking to Roxas for the sake of doing it, and then just doing whatever he wants. He is with Saix when Xion finally went with Roxas though. Interesting. Maybe a coincidence.

Axel is now at Castle Oblivion and seems to think that Saix is being decietful about certain orders.

I do find 358/2 a little difficult to control sometimes. I think it would work on the PS3 because the controls are different. What works on a big console can be awkward on a handheld. Then again, I have yet to start Birth By Sleep, so who knows?

Anyway, Roxas is now with Xion and they must deal with a powerful enemy. Fun.

I forgot about Tokyo Game show. I knew it was in September, but I didn't know when. Guess it was this weekend. I've never played the Final Mix, STILL haven't fully completed COM:RE OR 358/2, but this pack would give me good opportunity to do so.

Assuming, of course, that it gets past Japan. Probably will this time since the latter two games were released in the NA.

Something's missing with 358/2. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad game, but it doesn't seem to have the same kind of pull that the other Kingdom Hearts games have. I have yet to play Birth By Sleep, but I bet that one is much more "addictive" than 358/2. Chain of Memories still has it's charm though, but something seems kind of sparse and empty about 358/2. I guess this is what the series meant about "Nobodies". No Heart=hollow, empty, emotionless. Maybe the game is meant to reflect that.

Axel still has his spark though, but Demyx still seems rather distant, and Roxas is certainly powerful. I have yet to meet Xion.

Maybe it'll pick up when she becomes a bigger part of the story.

Not giving up though. I know something's there because it's clear that 358/2 is like Legend of Legaia or Tales of the Abyss in that it takes a bit to "pick up." Just that for some people, it never did. I doubt I'd be one of those people though.

Day 11, 12, 13, 14, 15

1. "Do I look like I run a nursery school?" Geez, Larxene, can you be any more of a BITCH?
Yea, I figured Demyx and Larxene would hate each other. Looks like Larxene and Roxas won't be friends any time soon. "Deep Do-Do?" Argh. I know this is an all ages games, but come on.

2. AAAAGH! Vexen! Why, God, why?

3. AAHAH! Yup, Demyx and Larxene can't stand each other. Witch works just as well as Bitch. Heh.

4. Why does Vexen look like someone punched him in the face? Why does he have to be nasty to Roxas? Oh, yea, he's not very nice. Never was. I decided to stay a little longer with Vexen though because for all his faults, he is still smart and his attacks, while minimal with Roxas are still gorgeous. He also gets a little better if you stick around rather than "RTC".

5. Lexeaus is every the mountain he always is. Nothing he does is without purpose. Hitting Roxas was a OUCHIE moment, but necessary considering the mission. The Limit Breaks aren't very impressive, so far, but then again, it's still early.

6. OH YAY! Happy to see Axel again. "You ever get the urge to just do something stupid and AWESOME?" Idea is gone already? Aww...then again, I have always seen Demyx as impulsive.

7. I knew Axel had some after mission plans. Axel's going to be the first in EVERYTHING!!11 Yup. Axel and Roxas are friends because AXEL SAID SO!!! :D Sweet scene too.

8. Roxas can now choose missions! YAY! Oh no, the mandatory one is with Larxene. WOE. Will be getting her out of the way first, then test endurance, and save Marluxia's mission for last. YAY! Might as well do them all.

9. That'll do for now. Slowly inching, but getting there. While the controls are still a little awkward, I've been getting better with them. As for the story, ever since Axel joined in the first mission, things are starting to pick up a bit. I don't really care about Hayner, Pence, and Olette, but they are clearly signifigant to Roxas.

10. Zexion and Marluxia seem somewhat friendly to Roxas. Lexeaus is largely distant, but pragmatic. Vexen is an ass, but that's expected. Larxene is AWFUL, as usual. Demyx is ]affable, but he seems pretty unavailable too. Axel is really the only one who is openly willing to actually BE friends with Roxas. Saw Luxord! OH YES! But, he has yet to be anything more than just there, just like those I have yet to mention.

Kingdom Hearts: 358/2. 1 hr. 29 minutes

After almost TWO damned years of putting this game on the back burner, I finally started it.

So far, so good. I do feel like the controls are a bit on the awkward side, but that might be because of being on a DSI as opposed to a big console. I haven't been playing this game for very long, so rustiness is always a possibility though.

Now, for the fun part: AXEL. For he is glorious.

I could have sworn he told Roxas that "Red is the the most dominant color in the sky." Instead, it "travels" the farthest or something. I dunno, I like the original statement better. Sounds so AXEL. :) He's the one who finds Roxas in Twlight Town, introduced him to well, everything really. I just LOVE how the game reminds you that Axel is looking out for his own agenda. Like we didn't already know. What happened to show don't tell?

Don't think I didn't notice that evil Axel look when Roxas wondered where Xion was. Jealous? Yea. This is AXEL we're talking about.

Anyway, Roxas does his tutorial missions. He clearly has the best rapport with Axel so far. Oddly enough, Demyx is kind of dismissive of Roxas, and he wasn't too interested in Xion either. Vexen, on the other hand, seems to think that the newest members are FOOD or something. What a creep.

Marluxia and Zexion are clearly interested in Roxas, but NOT for friendship, that much I know. Course, that was obvious in Chain of Memories. It's also obvious that Roxas doesn't linger with Marluxia and Zexion like he does with Axel. He has yet to mention the two in his diary. Not sure if I blame him. I LOVE Marluxia, but I can see how Roxas is a bit nervous, and Zexion, well, I've never been a fan of his anyway.

None of the other members have really gotten on my radar yet. I'm sure that'll change soon enough.


The music is nice. Typical Kingdom Hearts, but very nice. Graphics? Er, well, they're okay. Voice Acting? Kind of reminds me of Person 4. "Hahah." "Huh"? Still, pretty solid though.

Next up: Mission with Larxene. Joy. When is he going to have a mission with Demyx?

How long I've had 358/2. Almost TWO years? EEEEP! It's STILL brand new. I am so behind, it's not even funny, and I'm letting Chain of Memories stop me from playing it. GAH! It's not like I don't know what happened in COM, and I played KH2 BEFORE COM. *sigh*.

Anyway, I shall go ahead and remedy all this because I think it's about damned time I start 358/2. There's a lot of fuss about this game both good and bad, so I'll be seeing it for myself.

What possessed me to post this? Sometime this decade, I'll be catching up to the rest of the fandom. If I find that I can't get past Vexen, then I'll just use a Let's Play or something, and then start on 358/2.

Despite Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and Tales of the Abyss, RE:COM and 358/2 have been "skulking around", so to speak.

Axel and Saix

Though I haven't played BBS or 358/2 just yet, it didn't take much for me to find that those two did INDEED have a history together(TV Tropes kind of helped a bit there if the info given was reliable). It simply made sense to me. They were bitter enemies in KH2 and people like that usually started out as friends or even lovers. Not always, obviously, but it's pretty common. I call them the "Heavenly Bodies from Hell" and it looks like I was right. I prefer Axel with Demyx and Roxas, but I always did have Axel/Saix as sort of a "tugboat" relationship.

Only problem is that I'm WAY behind everyone else in the fandom, so I can't say much more because I don't want to spoil myself. I guess dealing RE: COM is inevitable since it's necessary to play that one first before going anywhere near 358/2 or BBS. So, wait for a very long awaited update. Good thing I don't have much of a concept of time because I know it's been awhile since I've played Re: COM.

Oh dear, looks like the prices have dropped by a few dollars. Hell, if I waited a little longer, I could have gotten it for free! Lol! Not that I regret pre-ordering it since it came with a nice sleeve, but Star Ocean 2 has eaten me alive, so everything Kingdom Hearts, except for the blog itself, has been put on hold.


I always make sure to post at least once a week. I used to update EVERY DAY! Heh. Lowering the frequency worked out for the best.

There is one thing that I'd like to say: I think it would be interesting to see Sora and co. take on Gabriel from Star Ocean 2. I know that the Star Ocean series is Tri-Ace, but Square/Enix publishes the games. Sora and co. already have difficult optional bosses, but I'd love to see them tackle Gabriel with his Limiter Off. I bet he'd give Sephiroth a run for his money! Course, there's also the Iseria Queen and Gabriel Celeste. They'd be interesting fights too.

Would it happen? Probably not since Kingdom Hearts has plenty of villains as it is, but you never know. I also have a feeling that there'll be a Kingdom Hearts Dissidia sort of things too. I said that already a couple months ago, but it's something to point out again.

Got it on the 2nd. Like a lot of games, it'll be awhile before I play it, especially since I've been putting off Chain of Memories for HOW long? Heh. Then, there's Star Ocean: 2nd Evolution that I got the very next day! Yay! It'd be neat to cross over those two games, but I don't see that happening--EVER.

I did get a nice sleeve with 358/2 since I pre-ordered, but I think Atlus does things right when they do pre-orders(sure, you pay more, but you GET more).

Beyond that, I should really tweak my "TO Do List". I won't remove anything, but will probably add to it. Yay for long lists!

Just a couple more comments:

Axel=Organization Himself? LOLOL!

It wouldn't surprise me if Square ended up making a Dissidia for Kingdom Hearts.

So, I have a little more time to put off taking on Vexen for the second time in Re: COM. LOL! The bosses are always hard for me in COM, and when that happens, I tend to take extended "breaks".

YAY! Finally! Nicely built too. Right now, it has profiles of Axel, Roxas, Xion in a nice roundabout. Axel looks smexy, as usual. I'm sure more will be added once the release date edges closer.

There's information on Coded, but I've never noticed it much and I don't think it'll change much.

I still haven't seen much of anything about Birth By Sleep. I know I'm not that oblivious, but I haven't seen any news on that game for quite some time. I'm sure that'll change once 358/2 is out.

Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days is set for release on September 29th in North America.

I've already posted that on my Twitter(InaHeart). Hmmm...Demyx Month, with "999". Would have been very amusing if it came out on 9/09/09, but I guess that's not to be.


Will be out in 3 1/2 months, and it'll be here before you know it. Pre-Order? I'm sure TONS of people will. Will I be one of them? It's tempting to be sure, but if I did, then this will be the first Kingdom Hearts game I've EVER pre-ordered. There's a first time for everything, and perhaps this will be THE ONE. Especially if there's nice gifts to go along with it.

Looks like Japan got it release. I bet there's an EXPLOSION PILL of news about 358/2. Hearstation.org has been talking about gameplay so far. Honestly, I haven't looked because I want to see everything for myself. This isn't new to me, but it's not too common that I do this. Just that with this one, I just want to know for myself. The commercials are great, but I haven't really looked beyond that other than screenshots. I guess I just don't want my "TO-Do" list to be more full than it already is. Some of it has been around for quite awhile. It all seems like yesterday, but this Blog is over two years old now. I feel like it's new---brand new. I never realized how long What's in a Heart has actually been around. I never paid attention to the time.

Feels like yesterday. I guess it's because there's always new news, new fandom happenings, new ideas, graphics, TO DO, etc. I simply never thought of this Blog's age. Whatever. I don't think it matters.

Those of you who already have 358/2, I hope you enjoy it. There's no doubt I will. I'm still behind on everything, but I've always been slow. Things will get done, but they'll be done slowly, especially since Kingdom Hearts never seems to get old, and given its success, I don't think it ever will. I can see it having at least six sequels before it finally ends. Lol!

I wonder when Birth By Sleep will get more attention. Looks like that one went by the wayside for a bit. I'm sure it's temporary though.

Short, but sweet. Shows how dynamic Axel is in less than a second. Then, Xion smiles at Roxas. Hmmm...Roxas/Xion. I have yet to see how the Axel/Roxas fandom is responding to this. I haven't really looked, but I'm going to eventually because I'm curious like that. I haven't detected any nastiness yet, but I'm sure it's there, and it wouldn't surprise me one bit.
