Day 11, 12, 13, 14, 15

1. "Do I look like I run a nursery school?" Geez, Larxene, can you be any more of a BITCH?
Yea, I figured Demyx and Larxene would hate each other. Looks like Larxene and Roxas won't be friends any time soon. "Deep Do-Do?" Argh. I know this is an all ages games, but come on.

2. AAAAGH! Vexen! Why, God, why?

3. AAHAH! Yup, Demyx and Larxene can't stand each other. Witch works just as well as Bitch. Heh.

4. Why does Vexen look like someone punched him in the face? Why does he have to be nasty to Roxas? Oh, yea, he's not very nice. Never was. I decided to stay a little longer with Vexen though because for all his faults, he is still smart and his attacks, while minimal with Roxas are still gorgeous. He also gets a little better if you stick around rather than "RTC".

5. Lexeaus is every the mountain he always is. Nothing he does is without purpose. Hitting Roxas was a OUCHIE moment, but necessary considering the mission. The Limit Breaks aren't very impressive, so far, but then again, it's still early.

6. OH YAY! Happy to see Axel again. "You ever get the urge to just do something stupid and AWESOME?" Idea is gone already? Aww...then again, I have always seen Demyx as impulsive.

7. I knew Axel had some after mission plans. Axel's going to be the first in EVERYTHING!!11 Yup. Axel and Roxas are friends because AXEL SAID SO!!! :D Sweet scene too.

8. Roxas can now choose missions! YAY! Oh no, the mandatory one is with Larxene. WOE. Will be getting her out of the way first, then test endurance, and save Marluxia's mission for last. YAY! Might as well do them all.

9. That'll do for now. Slowly inching, but getting there. While the controls are still a little awkward, I've been getting better with them. As for the story, ever since Axel joined in the first mission, things are starting to pick up a bit. I don't really care about Hayner, Pence, and Olette, but they are clearly signifigant to Roxas.

10. Zexion and Marluxia seem somewhat friendly to Roxas. Lexeaus is largely distant, but pragmatic. Vexen is an ass, but that's expected. Larxene is AWFUL, as usual. Demyx is ]affable, but he seems pretty unavailable too. Axel is really the only one who is openly willing to actually BE friends with Roxas. Saw Luxord! OH YES! But, he has yet to be anything more than just there, just like those I have yet to mention.

Kingdom Hearts: 358/2. 1 hr. 29 minutes

After almost TWO damned years of putting this game on the back burner, I finally started it.

So far, so good. I do feel like the controls are a bit on the awkward side, but that might be because of being on a DSI as opposed to a big console. I haven't been playing this game for very long, so rustiness is always a possibility though.

Now, for the fun part: AXEL. For he is glorious.

I could have sworn he told Roxas that "Red is the the most dominant color in the sky." Instead, it "travels" the farthest or something. I dunno, I like the original statement better. Sounds so AXEL. :) He's the one who finds Roxas in Twlight Town, introduced him to well, everything really. I just LOVE how the game reminds you that Axel is looking out for his own agenda. Like we didn't already know. What happened to show don't tell?

Don't think I didn't notice that evil Axel look when Roxas wondered where Xion was. Jealous? Yea. This is AXEL we're talking about.

Anyway, Roxas does his tutorial missions. He clearly has the best rapport with Axel so far. Oddly enough, Demyx is kind of dismissive of Roxas, and he wasn't too interested in Xion either. Vexen, on the other hand, seems to think that the newest members are FOOD or something. What a creep.

Marluxia and Zexion are clearly interested in Roxas, but NOT for friendship, that much I know. Course, that was obvious in Chain of Memories. It's also obvious that Roxas doesn't linger with Marluxia and Zexion like he does with Axel. He has yet to mention the two in his diary. Not sure if I blame him. I LOVE Marluxia, but I can see how Roxas is a bit nervous, and Zexion, well, I've never been a fan of his anyway.

None of the other members have really gotten on my radar yet. I'm sure that'll change soon enough.


The music is nice. Typical Kingdom Hearts, but very nice. Graphics? Er, well, they're okay. Voice Acting? Kind of reminds me of Person 4. "Hahah." "Huh"? Still, pretty solid though.

Next up: Mission with Larxene. Joy. When is he going to have a mission with Demyx?

A Place called TV Tropes has many examples of commonalities in all sorts of mediums. It's fun as hell to read, but it can easily consume you. The "Scrappy" is the one I'm currently reading. I actually thought the "Scrappy" meant someone who'd always be a "street punk" sort of fighter, but looks like I was wrong. It's based on the once popular, now hated Scrappy Do. Talk about One Second You're in, the Next You're out.

Check out the Kingdom Hearts section? Anyone surprised? I didn't think so. The KH fandom can be pretty brutal sometimes. In some cases, I can see why a character is considered a "Scappy", but some of it is ridiculous. I CALLED Xion well before 358/2 even came out. One thing the Trope failed to point out was that Xion is also considered whiny by a good number of fans who have nothing to do with Axel/Roxas.

Short, but sweet. Shows how dynamic Axel is in less than a second. Then, Xion smiles at Roxas. Hmmm...Roxas/Xion. I have yet to see how the Axel/Roxas fandom is responding to this. I haven't really looked, but I'm going to eventually because I'm curious like that. I haven't detected any nastiness yet, but I'm sure it's there, and it wouldn't surprise me one bit.

Yet some more things to add to my To-Do list. *smile*

Roxas and friends

Most of the news on 358/2 is scans, and http://www.khinsider.com/ has them as mostly thumbnails for the time being. However, that's not why I finally have a new post here. It has to do with the latest blurb where Axel and Roxas are talking with Haynor, Pence, and Olette. In a way, I find it sad because, well, what happened in KH2. Roxas is with the "Forgotten Three", but has no memory of Axel. Looks like all those in Twilight Town are pretty much the same.

Axel knows them all, but they forgot about him. Roxas only remembered at a certain point. I know that no ones knows what was being said, but I'd rather not imagine what it's like to remember friends only to find that they have basically becomes enemies because they don't recognize you. Don't get me wrong, I don't think it phazed Axel much, but I guess it's just the idea. Course, I'm assuming that Axel got along with Haynor, Pence, and Olette.

http://heartstation.org/ has the newest scans in both thumbnail and normal size. One of them has Marluxia fighting alongside Roxas. How precious. Then again, in my "fanon", EVERYONE in org 13 speaks to Roxas.

Here's a team--Axel,Roxas, Luxord, Xigbar. LOL! New set of Poker Buddies. My "set" has been Xenmas, Xigbar, Xaldin, Luxord, and Marluxia. I guess that's the fun in 358/2: Group names. Trio of Terror, Four Horseman of the Asscopylypse, The Golden Trio, Triple X, etc. Yipiee! Those who can nab the Japanese version will be getting all this in May. Good for them.

As for Coded, yea, I know not to forget it, but with 358/2 being the most anticipated, it looks like everything else Kingdom Hearts is going to be overlooked for awhile.

Oh Lord, I can see it now. The Axel/Roxas fandom will be VERY displeased for sure. Some of the new scans include these following scenes:

1. Axel alone with Xion. Both have sea salt ice cream. Axel looks concerned, irritated and angry. All of that. This is Axel we're talking about. He is always angry. Heh.

2. Axel, Roxas and Xion on top of the Clock Tower looking at the sky. All three look to be smiling.

3. What was already seen before(Axel shoving ice cream in Roxas's face and Xion is present).

4. Roxas and Xion looking at each other, but Axel is talking. This is in the Organization room.

Like I said, I can see people HATING Xion for this very reason. Simply for being around what the more dedicated Axel/Roxas fans see as "THE WRONG PEOPLE".

But, again, all these scans are taken out of context. No one knows for sure if someone is an enemy pretending to a friend, no one knows how often Xion is around, and there is STILL no interaction between certain other Organization members. Still nothing new on Demyx or Luxord. In fact, they are the only two that are never seen in anything new.

At any rate, as of now, the idea that Axel only liked Roxas is blown out of the water. It's something I suspected all along(for,er, different reasons) and while Axel/Roxas ARE best friends, that certainly doesn't mean that they have/had no one else.

It's still wait and see, but Xion looks like a wet blanket. Not too good an impression so far.

I hardly noticed that it's been quite a few days! The Olympics will do that to you! It's still Axel/Roxas day according to this Blog's time, so here's something Axel/Roxas fans are sure to enjoy:

That thread has the first reports of the Squaresoft party! Nice menu. Actually pretty surprising. Yea, I know. I'm not usually surprised, but I didn't really know what to expect with a mere menu. It's pretty and quite minimalistic.

It's cute though. Axel Seven Days is probably one of the sad ones. Awww...poor Axel, except not. Heee...I'm "Heartless".

Is there a point to this? Nope. It's just that Axel looks so happy around Roxas, relaxed, not a constantly angry dickweed. Then again, he's eating, and Axel is happy when he eats. The way to HIS "heart" is through his stomach.

It's a pretty picture and I've always been a sucker for sunsets, but this pic stands out because of water reflecting the sun. Looks like a golden blanket.



Then, there's this pic. Not so much because of Roxas, but rather what's on the top left of him. Looks like one of the other Organization members is just hanging around there. I'd like to think it's Demyx, but my cynical side of me suggests that it's the "new girl". Honestly, it could be anyone.

I'm not surprised at this. Right when I first played Kingdom Hearts 2, I often imagined Axel/Roxas talking to each other at different places. Clock Tower talk actually came a little later.

"Do you know why the sun looks red as it sinks below the horizon? It's because among the countless colors comprising light, red travels the greatest distance."

"You're just trying to show off, Axel!"

That's the other thing. "Element Talk" could come up occasionally too, but that's pretty common in the fandom. As for me, I often had Axel compare himself to the sun. "Without the sun, there wouldn't be a god damned planet!"

It was idle chatter between two boys without hearts.

Axel is a "boy". Looks like a grown man to me.

Axel/Roxas day!

Happy Axel/Roxas day! YAY! And now, some "Headspace facts" for most everyone's favorite dynamic duo!

1. Unlike Demyx, Roxas was a very easy catch, but only because Axel/Roxas are both warrior sorts, and Roxas had no preconceived notions of Axel.

2. Roxas admires Axel, and looks up to him as a mentor of sorts. People say that Roxas tops, but unless it's in combat, it's Axel that is almost always the "dominant one". Unlike Demyx, Roxas seldom resists.

3. They may have done "naughty things", but in the end, they are best friends and nothing more. This is a very easy relationship to "identify" even without Hearts. Unlike Demyx, there is no ambivalence or anytime where they "hate" each other. This relationship is far more stable for the most part.

4. Roxas really was Axel's "heart", so to speak. Through him, Axel found that he could finally be humane and actually be someone worthy of love and true friendship.

5. He is not possessive of Roxas. He is "clingy" and "needy", but never possessive.

Roxas and Axel vs 1000 Heartless

I'm sure Axel/Roxas fans would have LOVED having this in the game. KH-Vids discovered the codes and made the videos available for DL. Someone else was nice enough to post this one on YouTube.



To be honest, it seemed kind of "meh". I guess the music didn't help any. The Battle of 1000 Heartless was supposed to be a GRAH EPIC BATTLE, not some emotional touchie-feelie thing. Gar. To be fair though, it was a code, so obviously, the "feel" would be much different. With Sora, it was cathartic as hell. Then again, PLAYING it and watching it would be two different things.

This one's even better, except I don't know if it's a code or not.

It's Sora fighting both Axel AND Demyx! YAY!

Xaldin from KH-Vids posted this on Youtube and it's GREAT! I thought that it was Axel/Roxas vs. Demyx, but nope. Looks like it was either everyone for themselves or Axel/Demyx vs. Sora. Which, of course, is yayness for me!
