Mirage Split from Dream Drop Distance

Mirage Split and Nightmare Break by ~Monksea on deviantART

Lovely piece.

"These keyblades are overlooked I believe. In the world that never was, in Dream Drop Distance, Riku can use the Mirage split reality shift while Sora can use the Nightmare split reality shift, calling forth these two keyblades and decimating their opponents". Monksea

Kneeling before Saix

Remember when Sora knelt before Saix in Kingdom Hearts 2? This is an excellent posts that explains what a "Dogeza" is:

http://neriede.tumblr.com/post/31915295526/can-we-talk-about-this-for-a-second-because

She considered it a very touching scene. I, well, simply thought "KNEEL BEFORE ZOD!"

I R BAD.

Lovely Kingdom Hearts Pic

This looks amazingly real. Just incredible. I can see them jump out of the page! LOL! Interesting how protective Sora is of Roxas. Nice touch.

Re: Chain of Memories commentary: Vexen is VEXING

Took long enough, huh? Like, many many MOONS. But, with 358/2 just beginning, I figured, why not come back to this. It's time to catch up a wee bit! :D Comments will be numbered because it's easier that way. Then again, I've always done that.

1. I can't really stress this enough, but there is a reason why Vexen is 1. That one Boss on TV Tropes and 2. On my Top Ten Epic battles list. GRAGH. A lovely battle though. Vexen is a delight to watch in combat. All that lovely white and blue. Eh, they should have sent a poet.

2. Nice Vexen card.

3. Put Riku back? Apparently, he's a toy.

4. HOLY Balls! Axel! Honestly, this was much better than in the Japanese version, but I still feel like the GBA COM was the best one. Axel was MUCH more brutal in that version. "Now you can say I don't respect my elders!" Slice, dice, julienne Vexen! This doesn't happen in this version, but LORDY "Good-bye" and the WAY he said it knocked the Japanese version out of the ballpark! Axel looked like he wanted to BBQ Vexen. BAHAHAHHA!!

5. I can't believe Larxene EVER questioned Axel's, well, anything really. ERrrrr...she keeps "laying hands" on him and he keeps looking like he wants to KILL HER. Larxene: It'll be like child's play with the three of us.Axel: No, just me.

6. And heeeeeere's Riku! Or, his replica with fabricated memories. Not that Sora knows that. Either way, Riku is FIERCE in combat.

7. How can two people have the same memory? Well, if they were in the same place at the same time... . Oh yea, ask Namine. I'm sure she'll help. :D Oh no...Sora!? Fools rush in where wise men fear to tread, boy!

8. Oh no. Namine is alone with Axel, and yea, he knows what buttons to push. We know you're ENJOYING this, meanie! "This'll be a hell of a show", indeed. "Something else"? I'm not so sure about that one. ;)

9. I never thought about it until now, but isn't Sora the victim of gaslighting? Messing with his memories, giving misinformation, misleading him, tricking him? When I first saw/played this game, I never even thought of such a term. Interesting that it comesup NOW. Gaslighting is a pretty evil thing to do to someone, ORG 13. Eh, like they care.

10. Grindfest at Destiny Islands. Hooray!

Hopefully, I'll come up with some better commentary later. I'm a bit rusty with this game! :)

Theory on Roxas/Ven

I'd do some theorizing myself, but because I still haven't gone through the Final Mix(still waiting for the Re:COM subs), I probably shouldn't. I do think that the Ven/Roxas connection could be that when Sora was small, he met Ven and somehow, he stuck with him. Kind of like the memories of meeting a certain person that you might not ever see again. So, when Sora became Heartless, his memories of Ven became Roxas.

I don't know when the battle with the Enigmatic Soldier took place, but if it's after Roxas merged with Sora, then the ES had every right to be angry. He might have thought that Roxas WAS Ven, and was devastated that he lost him yet again. Or thought he did. However, this wouldn't explain Ven's supposed fate. Will probably have to wait until I actually see more of the Final Mix.

To-Do list:

1. Top Five most painfully difficult Battles--Kingdom Hearts
2. Top Five most glorious Battles--Re: COM
3. The damned Banner
4. Top Five most painfully difficult Battles--Kingdom Hearts 2(not the FM).
5. Axel/Demyx shipping manifesto (Might as well).
6. More could have been done with Demyx.
7. "Luxord could have done more." (Yea, and the same could be said for Demyx).
8. Xaldin banner.
9. KH Icons!

Attack of the CLONES! Well, sort of....

So, Kh-vids.net nabbed a picture of just about every kind of Sora figure imaginable.

Here's the pic in question.

It just BEGS for captions doesn't it?

10,000 Soras can't be wrong!

Axel: I'm supposed to be in the center, damnit!

Axel: How come Roxas isn't next to me?

Proof that you can never have enough Soras.

Sora comes in many different color coded flavors!

All I know is that somewhere in the world right now, someone is squeeing "I WILL HAVE ALL OF THOSE SORAS IN MY COLLECTION! IT PUTS THE LOTION ON ITS SKIN...oh...oops."

Thankfully, it won't be me.

Close to the end of Sora's story, and boy is it looong...

Just as a reminder, the vids linked come from kh-vids.net(linked to the side).

Axel vs. Marluxia

1. "Even if we forget each other, we'll stay in this together." I always wondered what would happen if the Three Disney Musketeers ended up seperate and forgetting each other. I guess they mean that even if they themselves forget, it wouldn't change what happened before they lost their memories of each other. Hurrr.

2. I certainly didn't expect to see a fight between Axel and Marluxia. I know whoever reads this must have thought I did based on the title link, but I was thinking in terms of a verbal confrontation. A very pleasant surprise. Sadly, I'm pretty sure Marluxia would have obliterated Axel. He's Lord of Oblivion for a reason.

3. Oh no. Not the "you cannot defeat me" line. That's been used in ninety percent of all RPGs in existance. As for everything else, I'm simply too gobsmacked to say much of anything other than "nice", except that I miss the part where Axel was the one who claimed that he would kill Namine to get at Marluxia(Or "run through her"). Something like that.

4. Of course it's worth it to save Sora's "hide", he's the only one who could beat Marluxia. I know that Axel does NOT want Sora and Roxas to meet, not at this point, but he doesn't want Sora to die either. Like I said, someone's got to beat Marluxia, and Riku has problems of his own. Axel got everything he wanted, so it's all good-for him.

5. Whoa. Leave it to Marluxia to have one of the most dramatic(and pretty) deaths ever.

6. Eheheh. Jiminy. I can't imagine Kingdom Hearts without him. It's almost like he has a cable plugged into the right answers. At least a lot of the times he does.

OHHH! Pinky swear! Now that's something I haven't seen since High School Band! How adorable!

7. Sora looking at that charm reminded me of the scene where he was given that charm. Like a fat puffalump, I teared up right there. One of the most touching scenes EVER!

Axel Second Battle

Good Lord! Axel is the devil himself in this fight! And the spell towards the end was a thing of beauty! I'm going to assume that was Sora's rather than Axel's though. Fire with fire? Never made much sense though. Still, lovely spell.

Marluxia first battle.

What a tedious disapointment. I could have had a V8.

Second Marluxia fight.

Better, prettier, and probably harder.

Marluxia battle number THREE!!!

Oh! This one is a glorious epic of a battle. The blue background mixes beautifully with everything else! The angel is a known cliche, but it also looks like a combination of an angel and the grim reaper. An interesting take of a being that is used constantly in RPGs. Anyway, this battle is what graphics, sigs, and icons are made of!

Ending doot...doot...doot

Short and to the point. Looks like the people at Youtube aren't too pleased. I think it's best to say that the promise was made for both Sora and Roxas. There. All better now?

The credits are up, but I think it's best to hold off that and the Epilogue until "Reverse Rebirth" has been viewed.

The 13th Floor

I could have sworn that there was movie called "the 13th floor".

Anyway, Floor 13.

1. Wow. Poor Namine. Looks like she's having a heart attack. She wants so much to have Sora for herself, but she knows it's wrong to mess with his memories.

2. The Replica is a psychopath, but I guess that's all he could be considering who made him. It's interesting to see how Namine has power over him. That's something I never expected. I would guess that it comes from her own connection with Kairi. Or the Replica's inadverdant connection with Sora himself. Maybe both since she was born out of Kairi's heart and Sora's body/soul.

3. Quite a kick there, Larxene. That might explain the kicky boots.

4. That "toy" had thoughts and feelings of his own. Even if memories were implanted, he was still a seperate entity. Kind of like an android. To see him tossed like that by anyone is just terrible to witness. Or maybe I'm just too sensitive.

5. I was under the impression that Namine only had the power to manipulate SORA'S memories, not anyone else's. If she had the power to mess with other people's memories, then that would be a pretty scary thought.

6. Yup, Axel used Namine. In this case, Larxene is right. She certainly seemed none too pleased. People say that it's because she liked Axel, but I say it's because she's arrogant and saw him as nothing more than a loyal dog, especially after he killed Vexen. Axel owed her no loyalty as both she and Marluxia were traitors to begin with. I am also almost positive that they would have betrayed Axel too.

7. My respect for Larxene went way down when she hit Namine. Not that I was surprised, but Namine is no warrior. Hitting her is like kicking a puppy. Got to hand to Namine though, she stood up to Larxene. Still, that doesn't make Larxene's behavior any less disgusting.

8. Sora, ever the optimist. He's nearly always forgiving, and that's a damned hard thing to be. I think his forgiving nature is part of what makes his heart so strong. Not to say that he would let people walk all over him, but he knows how to just let things go, which is something a lot of real life people can't manage to do.

Riku Replica fight NUMBER THREEEEEEEEE!

This particular fight is not as tedious as the other two were. Looked hard too.

Larxene second battle

No doubt Deathspank considered her tough as nails. Fast, furious, and probably had some devastating attacks were it not for her cards being "broken."

And now, screenshot captions:

"I'm....having...chest...pains..."

Yea, I know, not very original, but it was all I could think of. Hey, it could be worse. Could be something like: "Sora, you make me feel like I have a heart."

"I want it painted black..."

How interesting to see Larxene fade into complete darkness. Her element is always light(lightning). I guess it goes to show you that she was simply one of the more...unpleasant members of the Organization.

The next videos Deathspank has are LOOOONG. The final COM scene is about 20 minutes. Whew. That can wait until tomorrow.

Slowly climbing up

The Kingdom Heart sites are moving with lightning speeds. Already kh-vids.net has the Secret Ending video up. I haven't seen it yet and I don't intend to since I want to go through everything else first before having a spoiler aneurysm. All of the COM videos I'll be blathering about are from kh-vids.net, btw. The first:

Floor 2 .

"Yeah, just about anything could happen here in Castle Oblibbity...uh, Oblostemy..."

Oblostemy, Goofy? Sounds like a medical procedure. Check out Donald though:

"Oblivion! O-B-L-I-V-I-O-N! Got it---oh wait..."

Doesn't he remind you of someone? Think about it. Remember when Sora met Axel for the first time in KH2 at Hollow Bastion? Axel and Donald have very similar mannerisms, and you know that Demyx would pulling the same stuff that Goofy often pulls. Awhile ago, some of the fans have equated Axel and Demyx with Donald and Goofy, and I can certainly see why. Course the main difference would be that Axel/Demyx are often "paired", but Donald/Goofy would never be seen that way. I would say that's for the best. There's just something about Disney that says, "DO NOT SLASH!"

As for the rest of the scene, I find it unsettling that they'd forget Hollow Bastion so easily. One would think it would have taken a little longer. Guess not.

There's quite a bit about Aladdin that's being bypassed in the vidoes, but it makes sense since more people care about the Organization than about Disney.

Floor Three

Let's first start with Namine:

"Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind--on PAPER!"

She looks surprisingly smug here. At least I think so. Kind of creepy, which is something I've never accused Namine of being until now.

The rest of it is the usual friendship rapport between the Three KH Musketeers.

"Sora: Hey, Donald... Back when I was a Heartless, who was the one who clobbered me, hmm?

Donald: THAT's what you should be forgetting!

Sora and Goofy laugh.

Sora: Ha ha ha!"

Yea, I don't blame Donald for wanting to forget THAT blast from the not-so-distant past. Olympus is supposed to be after this, but like anything Disney and Final Fantasy, it'll be taking a back seat to the ORG scenes. Like I said, not much of a surprise.

For some people, KH2: Final Mix came out today!

Or at least what should now be the 29th in Japan. All I know is that some people got the game early and some of those people are from KH-VIDS.NET . Obviously, they're not the only ones, but Youtube.com did not fail them, so here are my impressions of the COM remake(I've only seen COM on Youtube and it was called "Skies of Memories"):

1. The first video is nothing more than a rehash of "what has gone before". Some of the scenes kind of threw me off(like the lightning scene). I'm going to assume that those are from the first Final Mix. Then again, I could have swown I saw Beast sitting somewhere in Hollow Bastion(unless, my eyes are failing me). Don't know what's going on there, but the rest of it is a reminder of how sweet the Sora/Kairi scenes often are(AND YES THEY ARE GRRRR!), how psychotic Riku tends to look, even when he's doing something good, and how Heartless Ansem looked hot as he vaporized from the wellspring of light. Yes. The music was pretty good too. "Passion", yes? It's a good remix. The original song itself is okay too. I'm not going to share that particular video here because I honestly don't see the point since it's an intro.

2. Here's the second video. And, of course, it's in Japanese. Bah. That shouldn't stop me though, even if I don't speak Japanese. Unless there've been dialogue/story changes I don't know about, then what's being said shouldn't be much different than the GBA version. Not that I'd be surprised if there were. Heh.

Honestly, they should have made this for the PS2 to begin with. There's nothing like watching Donald show horror at his powers failing him, and there's nothing like the nice sound of boots against a white, polished floor. Ah, Marluxia, those petals suit you nicely, but what was up with going through Sora? WTF? The voice is deeper than I thought it would be, but it's not bad. None of the Japanese voices so far are too bad.

HEEE! Sora always did have the prettiest blue eyes. I liked this picture though. So cute to see Jiminy Cricket on Sora's shoulder.

"Just passing through. HUUUR!"

Anyway, that was just Marluxia going though Sora's memories to make some cards for him, because that's how you fight in Castle Oblivion. Yay.

3. This is the third video. This one features Axel. "Yo"? "YO"? Oh. My. God. So, he really says something like this? The script says "BOO!" I liked that better. He's as loud as I suspected he is, and yikes, he's never been one to mess around. The battle in this video was skipped, but don't worry, it's around. I think Axel in this remake has a different "prescence" than in in the GBA version. In the latter version, he seemed much harsher and far more cruel. More serious too. In the remake, I can see where "lighthearted" comes from. Don't get me wrong, I've always seen Axel as someone who is "mischevious", but never "lighthearted". Even now, I don't see him being light and fluffy. Save that for Demyx. It's just in the remake, while he's still a bit, er, well dreaded, so to speak, he's not as scary as I think he is. At least not when calm. I can see where people get the "sinister" vibe from because Axel certainly is that.

"I AM AXEL AND I RULE ALL!!!!"

Oh, and did I mention that he's loud? Even when "quiet and sinister", he could blow up at any time.

He sure did in the battle, that's for sure. And no, I'm not fooled by the supposed ease of the battle. That being said, the fire spells are beautiful.

And, so is Axel. The screen captures could be better, I'm sure, but I'm using the kh-vids.net videos to nab them, and while the videos themselves are of excellent quality, using "print screen" with a Youtube video isn't. It's all good, though. I like the fact that kh-vids is willing to show all this so soon, so kudos to them!

As for the entire battle, it's interesting to see that Axel doesn't say anything. I guess he had nothing to say, for once. Refreshing for some, I'm sure.

That'll do for now. So far, so good, I'd say.
