Xaldin's interesting theory

He's from kh-vids.net, in case anyone forgot. :b

Anyway:

"Very Interesting Speculation I found out
It's noted that in the Birth by Sleep, Terra and Ven are either referring to themselves as "Friend" or to Aqua as "Friend."

In Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix+ Xemnas is referring to Aqua's Armor as "Friend", and looks closer to Terra, then Master Xehanort does. What is Nomura planning?"

Hmmm...Xemnas has been known to steal names/identities. Or, at least he did it with Ansem the Wise. A Borderline Personality with an unstable sense of self? Probably not. I honestly didn't think anything of it until I remembered the ending of Sunset Horizons. After Ven turns into an ice block, Terra eyes turn GOLD! Just like Xemnas'. So, my guess is that it's possible that Terra lost to Xehanort, but lost his memories. Ansem the Wise found him, but he couldn't remember his own name, so he called himself "Xehanort" because he didn't know who he was (no memories). As "Xehanort", he took Ansem's name and became Xemnas once he REALLY lost his heart.

Ooookay. So, where does that leave Old Man Ugly? I haven't the foggiest, but it would explain why he went underground in Hollow Bastion and spoke to the armor(Aqua) as a "Friend". Then again, who knows? This is Kingdom Hearts and it generates as many theories as Suikoden. Heh.

Dis isn't going away

Now KH Insider is doing it, and the board topic is over eight pages long. Yikes. The theory there is that a "Dis Soul" is just the body. So, if someone's Heartless is still around, but the "Nobody" is killed, then the body is all that remains. So, it's someone who not only doesn't have a Heart, but also doesn't have a Soul. Sounds like a cleric from Equilibrium to me or a robot. However, the OP claimed that he got the translation wrong, so it doesn't look like that's the case.

I would think that a body without a Soul or a Heart would be boring as hell. Not much for characterization there unless they're Kos-Mos of Xenosaga fame.

The DiZ theory was also rebuked because the Japanese spellings were different too, but the only difference was the LETTER. So, it's still possible that "Dis Soul" is just a manipulation of a "DiZ", so people can't just say "AHAHAH! Other people calling themselves DiZ exist."

Course the thread is a mess of arguments about who is what in terms of the Enigmatic Soldier battle. Sheesh.

Of course the good that came out of all the kerfluffle is the name Renoath. Take "X" out of Xehanort, and you've pretty much got that name since I can't imagine anyone being names Another or No Heart. Before the Dis Bruhaha came out, I thought that Xehanort may have already been a Nobody. Just that how can you lose your Heart AGAIN? Unless, he has multiple Hearts or a half one. Still, when Xehanort became a Nobody, he took Ansem's name and became who we all know. I guess he has some identity issues or he didn't want to be recognized as "Xehanort".

Blagh. I don't know, but I highly the "Dis" DIScussion is going away anytime soon.

Dis Soul again

Speculations continue in terms of who/what/where/when/why "DisSoul" is mentioned in the trailer. One of the theories over on the kh-vids forum is that a "Dis Soul" is a being without a soul. That is, someone who's SOUL was taken.

Uh-huh. Wouldn't that be a Heartless though? I was under the impression that the Heartless kept a "captive heart", and lacked a soul themselves. So, the "Heartless" was a being that was nothing more than a ball of instinct with no memories(. Nothing but a Heart and a Body. A "Nobody" would be the being that had a body and soul(the memories and incomplete emotions), but no Heart. So, a "Dis-Soul" should be a being that has NO body, but rather a Heart and a Soul. Sort of like a ghost or a Wil-O-Whisp.

But, if I'm wrong about a "Heartless", then a "Dis-Soul" would be a being with a Heart and a Body, but zippo memories and is still incomplete because of it. They would be searching, or chasing their corresponding Nobody. As in, the memories.

Hmmm...could Xehanort have been a "Dis Soul"? Heart, Body, but no memory, which would explain why he was so desperate to search for his own memories. Just that if simply having no memory means being a "Dis Soul", then someone with Alzheimer's or massive memory loss could be a "Dis Soul". Probably not though since it seems to me that the "Soul" carries some emotion, so the loss of it would mean the loss of memories and the more "negative" emotions or "simple" emotions. So, Xehanort's negative emotions were probably muted thanks to the loss of his soul. He did not like this very much, I guess, so he figured that by losing his "Heart", he would lose the more complex emotions(like, Romantic Love, which is always both a heaven and a hell) AND the positive emotions(like say, compassion).

I guess he figured that since his Heart was OMG strong, then he would end up with a new Soul as a Nobody(because of Xehanort's new memories), and through completion as a whole new person, he'd get his memories back, or something.

He did say himself that Anger and Hate reign supreme, and having a Heart would get in the way of that. Course if he is a "Dis Soul", then you have to wonder how he lost his original soul, so to speak and what the hell became of it?

I think it's best to go with Occam's Razor and say that "Dis Soul" simply means "this soul" as a way of referring to another person. Or, it's a ghost of some kind. I like my first theory better(simply someone consumed by revenge. DiZ Soul).

Xehanort...SPESHUL

"Special Nobodies". Good grief. Everytime I hear that, I just cringe. I could see Xemnas being a bit "special" because even Sora was just a little bug with antennea when he became a Heartless, but not Xemnas, OH NO! His Heartless looked like a tanning booth dude in a bad outfit. So far, he's the only one like that. Other fans theorize that it's because Xehanort himself never had a heart to begin with. He was somehow created as a human being who never had a "heart", so he doens't know how it feels to be "whole". Where I come from, such a person is called a pyschopath. Quite naturally, Xemnas would be no ordinary psychopath. He'd be a "special" one, of course.

Can you imagine if his "lack of memories" proved to be false? That would mean that not only had he been decieving Ansem, he also decieved god knows how many others, took the name of his master, sealed him in darkness, and wreaked a lot of havoc on who knows how many! For what? Power? Wouldn't that be all too typical though? "BLAAAGH! I want to be GOD! AAAGH!" Destroying everything would be too typical too. Could be just curiosity. Of what it means to have a Heart? Good grief, that's some curiosity. Yea, special "psychopath" indeed!

No one really knows for sure what's going on though since it's not uncommon for Kingdom Hearts to have so many questions, they may not ever be answered. I have yet to see the Secret Ending or gone past Reverse/Rebirth, so I could be just talking out of my ass here.

I still keep wondering about poor Demyx though. Will he remain shafted? It's been stated before, but he's so clearly different from the rest of the Organization and it's never been touched upon. Axel/Roxas may also be the least disgusting, but they're both vicious and Axel is especially "unpleasant". Yet those two will be as gods, while Demyx is shoved aside, except in a large majority of the fandom. Who knows though? The new project will be announced soon and it looks to be a Kingdom Hearts "gaiden", so will have to see.
