Just came out yesterday. I actually DID remember, but didn't see the point in saying anything about it until I saw
This Gamespot Review.
Doesn't seem like too bad a game, but clearly not among the "best". Not like the other KH games. Don't know when I'll be seeing for myself.

Re: Coded
From the Square-Enix site itself:
KINGDOM HEARTS Re:coded
Sora returns on January 11, 2011!
KINGDOM HEARTS Re:coded
COMING January 11, 2011 for Nintendo DS™
ESRB RATING: EVERYONE 10+ with Fantasy Violence
The next installment in the KINGDOM HEARTS series is just around the corner! With Organization XIII defeated and order restored to the worlds, it was just another day in the Kingdom...until Jiminy Cricket noticed lines in his journal that he did not write. Realizing that "bugs" are appearing in the journal's records, King Mickey calls upon Sora, the only person he can count on to save the glitch-filled worlds. What Sora discovers in the datascape is a truth that not only links him to the past, but also opens the door to his next journey...
Uh-huh. What interested me was the DATE: 1/11/11.
Or 01/11/2011
Even looks like a "code" in its own right.

Pre-Ordering Re: Coded
Does anyone have any intention of doing that? Me? I don't know. I've never been interested in it, BUT since it's been moved to something more accessible, it might be in the cards for me to get it eventually.
According to SquareEnix, if you DO pre-order, then you get a nice set of decals. Huh. Sounds nice, but is it enough? Not quite for me. Atlus still tops the "great pre-order stuff" contest. At least you DO get something though.

Kingdom Hearts: Coded
Lookie! It's on the DS Lite!
I wonder why they couldn't have done that to begin with? Most people I know don't think of using cell phones as a means to play games. Even if they DID play games on their cell phones, it's usually going to be something like Solitaire or Hearts. I just figure that if someone wanted to play portable video games, they'd use a handheld system. Then again, if I bothered using a cell phone, it's just to call people or to have a number to use for Get Paid To stuff.
Anyway, I have yet to hear of a successful cell phone game. Maybe it's just more popular in Japan, but cell phone games don't seem to have taken off in the US. No one seemed to care much about KH: Coded UNTIL it showed up at E3 as a remake for the DS system. Something about "3D" too. Now, it's showcased more often when it was an afterthought in the past.
Hell, even I'm mentioning it more often.
Maybe I should be mentioning RE: Chain of Memories more often too. Vexen's been waiting for months and he isn't known to be patient.

Coded
I know there's footage of Coded, but i haven't looked yet. I just haven't been paying too much attention to it. I also know about the new scans for 358/2, but there's nothing I want to say that hasn't already been said in previous Xion posts. It's still up in the air about how things will turn out. I haven't seen many problems with Xion though, so maybe she won't be Kairi, but given what she's been saying in the new scans("I want to be together with you two"), you can bet she will be. Sad, but that's what happens with female characters like her.
The new scans showed more Xemnas, Saix and Xigar. Beyond that, like I said, it's more of the usual.

I'm just curious here, but does anyone remotely care about Coded? I know that cell phone games are on the rise, but I'm not really sure of much of the KH fanbase actually cares. Then again, I could be wrong given this:
KH characters RULE Cell phone wallpapers. And according to kh-n.com, they've been doing pretty damned often. Heh. Never expected that, but then again the KH fandom is HUGE and quite dedicated for the most part. It'll only dominate further once the newer wallpapers come in.
I've never bothered will wallpapers myself, unless they're for my comp, but I can see why they're popular. Those are WALLPAPERS, so it stands to reason that a cell phone KH game could do quite well.
Oh, Coded. Well, who knows? Maybe it'll be much better than I think it will be. You never know.

Oh noes!
Everyday update? Bwhaaha. So much for that. It's not like I've moved on or anything because I haven't. Given the nature of the KH series, something like that isn't likely if ever. I mean, FF7 has been in the "back of my mind" for a decade, which is ironic considering that it isn't even my favorite FF. Har! Har.
That being said, I read about the interviews from the "Big 3" KH sites, and I'm quite surprised that Coded is still around being developed. I guess mobile phone games are more popular than I thought. For me? Such a thing is for TALKING, not for playing for games. I have others things to play games with, but that's just me. Still, given that practically NO ONE has spoken of Coded, I don't think many people are going to care much. Then again, who knows? But, I seriously doubt it'll trump BBS and 358/2 in terms of popularity.
Here's a tidbit from KH Insider:
"Also worthy of noting, FF7AC reunion is reporting that Kingdom Hearts coded will be the first of the three compilation games to be released. Looks like the rumors about its production being halted are false!"
The FIRST to be released? Well, I'm not too surprised. Then again, nothing surprises me. The internet took that ability away. Ehehhe. Maybe Coded will be better than I think. There's a reason why mobile phone games are showing up more and more. I honestly don't know if I intend to go near it, but because I am curious, I probably will. Youtube is a wonderful thing. :D
