Interesting theory from an Insider Forumite

In the opening battle scene for the Final Xemnas fight Xemnas says "Anger and Hate are supreme". I'm pretty sure that 'anger' and 'hatred' are emotions. I think that Nobodies just think that they don't have emotions because they are too sad to dwell over happiness and all of those other "goody-goody" emotions. The thing is that they don't know that they're sad because they don't know what sorrow is!

Well, yea, they ARE emotions, but they are very strong and POWERFUL emotions. To a psychopath, the only emotions that really register to them are those two emotions. They don't seem to "get" other emotions. Gee, it couldn't be from a lack of empathy, could it? But, it could also be that if they were to actually FEEL emotions, those two would be about the only two they COULD feel with any real depth. Anger and Hate are "scary", but they are also emotions that drive people to either protect themselves from abusive asshats/bad situations(one of the ways that targets stay away from abusers is by nursing their anger/hate towards their abusers and holding on to the 'bad parts') or be driven to DO evil/really stupid crap.

For Xemnas, such emotions meant "being strong". Sort of like what Xaldin says, "Feed your anger. Only anger can keep you strong." Yes, that's true to a certain degree. Like I said, it's what can keep people from being jerked around and why abusers/bullies tend to fear it in other people(unless they're psychopaths). HOWEVER, it's also highly corrosive and can break the person who carries around so much anger that it becomes rage. It's just too bad that such a person can take others others with them, especially when "entitlement" comes into play. As for hate, well, same thing. In fact, they can be considered one in the same, except that HATE is something that tends to be much longer lasting, and can lead to even greater evil/misery than anger.

Whatever the case, it's expected that Xemnas would say something like "hate and anger" reign supreme. It's what registers with him, and it's what keeps him on his search for whoever he was before being found by Ansem.

Of course Xemnas wouldn't know what sorrow was. This is because it wouldn't register with him. Joy, love, hope would also have little or no meaning to him. Or, he'd see it as contemptible weaknesses to be exploited. You can bet that Saix would.

The thing is, even when he says that "Anger and Hate" reign supreme, he doesn't really show them much, so it either comes out cold (similar to Demyx) or he hides it incredibly well.

I've always believed that they DID have emotions, they simply felt either incomplete or their emotions were "muted". That is, not as strongly as they should be. OR, they felt only negative emotions. For some of them, anger and the pleasure of watching others suffer are the only emotions they have.

There's a "pyramid" of this too, btw as some Organization members clearly felt more strongly than others.

Another strange pyramid. Saix only felt strongly in battle. Otherwise, he was very cold, empty and hollow. I suspect that those on the bottom were ALL three. Quite fitting that the resident Cerebral Malignant Narcissist, Zexion would be on the bottom. Narcissism IS, after all, little more than internal emptiness. One step up from Sociopaths/Psychopaths, and only slightly less disgusting.
