Found on the KH Insider forums!
The OP didn't make the theory and I sure as hell didn't, but whoever did should get major Kudos!
"In summaries of the TGS trailer, we see Ven asking someone -- Terra, for the purposes of this theory -- to "erase" him. We really can't say exactly what that entails, but that doesn't much matter.
Now, let's say that Terra can't bear to do that to his friend. So, he does the next best thing instead. Rather than killing him outright, Terra decides to seal his soul within another person so that Ven can live on, if only metaphorically. You should be able to see where this is going.
1) Ven's soul ended up inside Sora, but that wasn't what Terra intended. See his pre-battle quote: "No.... You aren't the one I chose. Why isn't it him?"
2) Because Sora had Ven's soul within his own, and the body and soul are so closely connected, Sora grew up to look a fair bit like Ven.
3) Because Roxas is Sora's body and soul, the very parts that were affected by Ven, he looks exactly like him.
This covers why Sora and Roxas look like Ven, explains a few quotes, and opens up new possibilities regarding the soul without resorting to ridiculous ideas like " the Soulless." It also gives rise to new ideas for development in KHIII, like who or what the intended vessel for Ven's soul was and what became of it, and just what effect this has on Sora himself. Plus, it creates some interesting parallels between Roxas and Ven, in that they both had to join Sora in order for the big villain to be defeated.
The only real hole in the theory is just how Terra was able to do this. But it's not necessarily too far-fetched to believe that he gains this ability somewhere throughout BBS, especially if Ven is specifically asking him to use it."
Figures it came from GameFaqs!
All I know is that both forums have generated a lot of responses to this particular topic. All I know is that it blows MY theory out of water. Oh, that Sora met Ven and Roxas simply came from Sora's memories. Only problem would be where that left Ven. It'd be interesting to see how it all plays out.
