Censorship

This KH Vids thread wondered about censorship should a US version of the Final Mix ever get released. Course some people just had to say that IT WILL NOT BE IN THE US HHHUUURRRHAAARRR, but others have also expressed concern about it while simply saying, "I just want the game, damnit!"

As for me, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if they did and it wouldn't surprise me if the translations came out a bit differently too. Don't get me wrong, I think that the translation of KH2 was generally good, but I heard that some of the dialogue was changed too. Like with Axel, he never actually said that Roxas was the only one he liked, he said "I really liked the kid (the actual word was fellow)". And made him feel like he had a raging boner Heart. Plus, Axel swore much more in the Japanese version.

Problem is, in the Kingdom Hearts fandom, it's damned near impossible to believe anything they have to say, unless it's from a news source and even then, I tend not to believe much of anything.

Either way, it certainly hasn't stopped me from writing any fanfic/fanart I want anyway. That might explain why many US authors/publishers tend to be less than tolerant of fanstuff. I don't worry, though since most of my fandom nonsense is in the video game arena, where gaming companies aren't too bothered by fan blahs.

OH, censorship. If the a US version comes out and it IS censored, then while I am opposed to censorship, I wouldn't be bothered too much. The original versions are always on Youtube. Heh.
