Demyx, fake?

Sometimes I read a place called "Videogamerecaps.com", which functions like Television Without Pity, only it's about video games rather than television shows. Anway, one of their message board topics include Kingdom Hearts 2(the first game is recapped, but I don't think the second one is).

One of the topics that came up was all about Demyx(he comes up pretty often there since he's fairly popular or at least gets a lot of attention). Someone had a theory than when Demyx said, "Silence, Traitor!" to Sora, it showed his true self. I always believed that the traitor stuff came from these three things:

1. Demyx was technically right. Leaving the Organization would be betrayal, whether such thinking was right or wrong.

2. It was a personal betrayal. Demyx, like Axel, also had a connection with Roxas, so when he left, Demyx also felt betrayed.

3. Demyx didn't like being reminded of being a "Nobody", so calling Sora a traitor was the worst insult he could think of.

This person's theory was that Demyx wasn't a nice, happy, playful character. Instead, he was cold, aloof, sinister, and just as malicious as everyone else. All I could think of was "God, I hope not". See, if that were true, then it would make him worse than every single Organization member combined. Everyone else is pretty much the genuine article, what you see is what you get. If Demyx's "childishness" is nothing but a front, then he'd be more of a liar than Axel. He'd certainly be more of a fake, which would make me very sad. Not only would it shove him with the "Blah Brigade", it also puts him near the bottom of the "Pyramid of Kindness"(I'll be getting to that soon).

However, I don't think the poster was right though. Despite having the least amount of screentime, he's one of the more complex Organization members. His "childishness" and friendliness ARE real, but so is his being cold and aloof. Demyx is more of the former, while his worst aspects only appear when provoked.

While no angel, I don't think there's much getting around that Demyx remains the least disgusting member of the Organization.
